Time to Reach Out

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

2010 is going to be the year when I push to reach out to as many people as I can. I want anyone who is dealing with infertility to know about ldsInfertility.org and to know that it is a resource for them. If they are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, great! If not…great!

Because I am only one person, I need your help. I would like to post signs and distribute flyers to places that infertile couples frequent…OB/GYN offices, Reproductive Clinics, and LDS Family Service Offices. If you would like to help by being an extra set of legs, I’d love your assistance. Let me know by emailing me: kerstin.daynes@ldsinfertility.org. Include your address and a list of specific places you would like to deliver to (just so we don’t duplicate locations). I will send you a packet with instructions and the flyers/signs.

Thanks for joining the efforts! I appreciate your help!!

Holiday Time…Busy Time

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

The holidays have seemed to have kept parts of my life at a standstill; my web-presence has been suffering due to much needed family and vacation time. I am sure you can relate. Although I LOVE checking my email, writing new things to post on the website, and wandering through Facebook (and maybe even “blogging”), I must admit that a few days without it all as been nice. It has been busy, with each day filled with something new, even a day or two of sleeping in! I have truly enjoyed the Christmas season and soaking in all the good things around me.  Normal life will, however, be a welcomed companion as we return to it in the next couple of days.

I did finally post a new “On My Mind” article, Reflections and A Look Forward, on the website, so make sure you jump on over and read it. I can’t promise that it is anything too life-altering, but it has been on MY mind as of late.

I am looking forward to a Happy New Year!!

The results are in…

I am always amazed by what others have to say about infertility. I know what I think…but, it is nice (and refreshing, and intriguing, and helpful, and eye-opening) to have the perspective of friends who are on a similar path to family building. Even though we can all be labeled as “infertile”, every story and every experience is just a little different. Perhaps the difference lies in where we are on the path to family building, or in the options we choose, or in our diagnoses or prognoses. Or, maybe it is because no two people are the same.  Regardless, those differences add dimension. I know that as I hear what others have to say, I experience far more “a-ha” or “I never thought about it that way” moments than if I just listened to what I have to say.

So, having said all that, I must say I am proud and awed by the responses for December’s Think & Share! You are truly amazing and have helped my eyes to be opened to seeing Christmas differently this year. Thank you…thank you!!

They design t-shirts in every color with every theme imaginable…even the theme of infertility. Check it out…and I warn you that you might just laugh out loud.

December Think & Share

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

I couldn’t resist opening Think & Share a month before I intended to–just because I really want to talk about how to survive and thrive during the holiday season.

Click here to see what I’d like you to “think” about and then “share” your thoughts. The deadline is December 15th, so do some quick thinking and submit your ideas. Check back on December 17th to see what people are sharing!!
